Ya seriously… What’s wrong with me.

Last 2 years of my life SCHOOLING…

Better appreciate it before it’s gone too soon.

And then the crucial life decision as to WHAT TO DO AFTER GRADUATION.

 

Current plan is to

1) Gain some experience in a hospital (And then decide where to venture to.), hopefully will be able to work in an Oncology ward or ICU department.

2) Pursue my piano Diploma

 

That’s about all I can plan as of now…

Looks good. :)

Bach has a way of teaching me patience!

Have been working on a 2-page piece for more than 1 week already! And I still can’t play the entire piece without mistakes. =/

Have never used a metronome that much too.

And now I’m supposed to write a 100-word essay in Bahasa Indonesia about my family and our favourite FOOD…

While listening to Indo songs. :)

And so it goes, I’ve just received the news that one of my patients has passed on.

She was the most compliant and responsible patient, always updating us on the latest changes in her body… Be it feeling nauseous, loss of appetite or pain somewhere.

She would be extra aware of drip tubes and call bell, always ensuring they were in their right positions.

I remember the small talks we had, in a little dialect and Mandarin… Sometimes when we had nothing to say, I’d just stay by her side. When I had to leave, she’d thank me.

No doubt, I’d walk away feeling helpless at times.

There was once, she had a fever and fell so ill she had to be transferred to the “High Dependency” unit. Since she had cancer, and thus a very low immunity, a slight increase in body temperature could be a life threatening sign.

She overcame that and returned to my ward. We were so happy to see her back in a better condition. :)

Man… She was a fighter. :)

Value your life.

Now that she’s passed on, I’m quite relieved. Gone are the colourful variety of medicines she had to take daily (most of them are to treat the side effects of cancer treatment… So whatever.) and the boredom of lying on bed.

It’s been about 3 months since I had attachment at NUH. Some memories stay with you eh.

Looking forward to my next 2-week attachment there in December. :)

I’m dead tired now and so dreading school tmr!!!

One week of holiday has gone too soon, I’d say it was a holiday well-spent. Totally enjoyed every day!

Going back to school is so “………”
Anti-climax.

Ok, as much as I tend to grumble after a holiday, I almost always enjoy schooling once I reach school and start the momentum going again.

It’s just… The THOUGHT.

The first day is always the hardest!

Has anyone been to the ZOO recently?

I went on Wednesday, after 7 or 8 years? And was rather disappointed with what’s there or rather, what’s LEFT.

There seemed to be so few animals that it felt more like a walk through a garden?

Anyway, I don’t exactly like going to the zoo, cos no matter how Man tries to replicate their natural habitats, the sad truth prevails – the animals are still being held in captivity.

So the whole while there, I was feeling sorry for the animals. They could have been much happier in the wild (I think), though that means having to fend for themselves.

Similarly for me, I’d rather make my own foolish mistakes, fall, learn and rise up again, rather than to live under the shadow of someone else.

However after all’s being said, zoo trip was still real awesome due to the great company!!!

Our Indonesia hosts came over to Singapore for a short visit, so we played hosts to them this time!

It must have cost them a bomb to even travel here, so our team covered much of their expenses. Glad they enjoyed themselves greatly! :)

They had been real good hosts to us for 2 weeks in Indonesia, taking care of us and seeing us through our many obstacles and repercussions. Certainly not an easy feat for a team of 22 people!

Their dad is a pastor and keyboardist in church. Mum’s a worship leader and a superb wife and mother. A great role model for the girls. :)

Talking about parting and stuff, last night was my last cell group meeting with W472. I thought I wouldn’t cry! But I did. =P

It’s been a great privilege to be pioneering this cg together with Shing, to witness lives being radically transformed by God and to love and serve God together through the ups and downs of life.

As uncertain as the journey ahead, I’m excited to unravel what’s in store and to begin a new phase of life. :)

I’ll certainly miss the “omnipresent” sounds of laughter and cheerfulness in W472 though! =P

And of SOME people’s constant teasing. Lol… By the way, the average age of the cg drops by ONLY 0.2. Lol…

 

On a parting note:

Keep tapping into your potential, you’d never know where it will lead you to!

And keep walking with God, He’ll definitely lead you to where you are supposed to be! :)

About a group of talented artistes striving out in a school of performing arts.

The movie takes us through their audition day right up to their graduation day. It depicts depression, rejection, self-doubt, self-discovery and simply the fun of doing what you love.

I could relate to it to a certain extent.

Some things you know you’re just not good in, no matter how hard you try.

So don’t be too hard on yourself.

Focus on your strengths!

 

However, ”strength” is a subjective term. What do you compare it with?

Yourself, among your weaknesses?

Or others? In terms of being outstanding in a particular area?

 

Focus on your strengths.

 

What about your weaknesses?

Do you neglect them?
Be conscious of them but do nothing about it?
Or work and improve on them?

If I’m a right-handed, it’s perfectly understandable and acceptable for me not to be able to write legibly with my left hand.

And so, I wouldn’t even bother to.

Why spend time and effort to even try when I can use my right hand to do the same job twice as good?

However, many times, society scorns you for being unable to write legibly with your non-dominant hand. That is highlighted so luminously, it shadows the ability of your dominant hand.

 

But do what is natural, start putting your dominant hand to use. It might paint you pictures you never dream you could paint.

Spent my ENTIRE day at home, playing piano and dramaaa… Lol.

Heartthrob. :)

It’s a Japanese drama about life in a music conservatory, consisting mainly of piano and orchestra hehe. So inspired to play better! And to “face music seriously” =P

Though currently, I’m not working on any pieces since my teacher is teaching me music THEORY…

Can someone give me a piece to play? I need some challenges in life lol… Since I have 1 week break from school.

Past 3 days had been real eventful, I’ve never been home past midnight for 3 consecutive times.

Had to rush down to school for a 2-hour lesson. Darn out of place wearing that long white dress and carrying the cello walking around in school.

Air tickets to Medan have been booked. Sofi, Gary and I will be going there in Dec. :)

I’ll be leaving on Christmas Eve with Gary and staying over at Sofi’s house. :)

 

Planning to go over to Shanghai next July and stay there for 1 month. There is gonna be a worldwide event held there so they’re asking for NUS student volunteers. So exciting!
